ACCESSIBILITY
As a municipal company under paragraph 2 of the Hamburg Equal Opportunities for People with Disabilities Act (Behindertengleichstellungsgesetz; referred to below as HmbBGG), we endeavour to make our websites accessible in accordance with the provisions of the HmbBGG and the Hamburg Accessible Information Technology Regulations (Barrierefreie Informationstechnik-Verordnung; referred to below as HmbBITVO) implementing Directive (EU) 2016/2102.
Status of compatibility with requirements
The accessibility requirements ensue from paragraph 1 HmbBITVO in conjunction with paragraphs 3 (1) to (4) and paragraph 4 of the Federal Accessible Information Technology Regulations, which were issued on the basis of paragraph 11 HmbBGG.

Labelling of operating elements
As far as possible, all operating elements on the website have been provided with alternative text in the system.
Images and graphics
Images and graphics have been provided with alternative text for descriptive purposes. This does not apply to images that are used purely for decorative purposes.
HTML structural elements for headings, lists and quotations
A semantic HTML structure has been created.
Search function
The search function has been provided with an aria-label.
Contact form
The input fields of the contact form can be completed automatically using autocomplete.
Mouseover
All elements that are displayed through a mouseover can be closed again using the ESC key.
Using the keyboard
It is possible to navigate through the entire website using a keyboard. The order of navigation cannot be changed as it follows an editorial logic.
Title attributes
In most instances, title attributes have been added to various areas of the website in order to ensure improvement.

Arbitration procedure
If no satisfactory solution is found even after providing your feedback using the contact details above, you can refer the matter to the Arbitration Board in accordance with paragraph 13 a HmbBGG. The Arbitration Board has the task of supporting an out-of-court settlement in the case of accessibility-related conflicts between people with disabilities and public bodies. The arbitration procedure is free of charge. Legal assistance is not required.
At present, the ombudsman’s office of the State Chancellery is taking on the tasks of the Arbitration Board that is yet to be set up.
